DIGITAL TRACKING

Our MacPro computer, equipped with reliable processors, GPU and fast SSD and NVMe hard drives is at the heart of our digital recording systems. Our MOTU digital interfaces support 48 simultaneous live inputs while our CUEMIX software can provide you 100% latency-free studio monitoring when laying down tracks. We can work with any DAW, but we prefer Digital Performer and ProTools.

ANALOG TRACKING

We can record your music in our analog environment, or any hybrid combination of analog/digital, through our vintage 16 track TASCAM – MS16 tape recorder, combined with our pristine pre-amps and our 32 track Soundcraft Ghost mixing board. For a full analog experience we even offer a large reverb chamber, which is situated in the basement, right under the control room.

PRE-AMPS

At Natural Records we provide 28 channels of carefully selected, high quality pre-amps. Brands such as Neve, Avalon, Universal Audio, SPL and TL Audio provide for a great sonic experience. Whether it’s a clean solid state sound or the warmth of classic tubes, it’s all in the reach of our hands. Our Soundcraft Ghost mixing board provides another 32 channels of pristine on-board pre-amps.

MICROPHONES

Microphones and microphone placement, as well as the room where they are placed in, is the second-most important thing when laying down tracks. The first-most is YOU and therefore, we only use some of the best dynamic, ribbon and condenser mics around. We offer Neumann, BeyerDynamic, DPA, Sennheiser, Sony, AKG, and we also have a wide choice of vintage mics to capture your music.

SOFTWARE

Of course you want to be able to mix down your audio with the best possible set of tools. We offer a massive library of premium quality software plugins. Brands like Waves, UAD, Fabfilter, MAS, and Izotope offer great flexibility and sonic possibilities and are within our reach to make sure your recorded audio will sound fantastic. We also use midi instrument bundles and Kontakt Native instruments. We work with DP11 DAW software and can use ProTools or Logic when desired.

HARDWARE

We provide a full analog tracking and mixing experience or any hybrid combination between Analog and Digital. We have a pretty collection of hardware (vintage) compressors, EQ’s, FX units and MIDI interfaces, as well as hardware recording systems such as HD and DAT recorders. It’s all there, mounted in our studio racks. Whatever you may need to mix down analog sounds, we got it and if not, rest assure we can get it from one of our trusted studio partners.

MASTERING

The mastering process is an important step before you can send your music out there to your fans. Whether it is mastering for online streaming platforms such as Spotify and YouTube, a full album CD production and even vinyl, we know how to make your master sound fabulous, balanced and pleasing to the ears. We offer a wide range of professional mastering tools, such as Izotope and Waves bundles and we can deliver on any kind of master disc or digital DDP files.

MONITORING

In our balanced control room we use top quality signal chain through our Crane Song Avocet monitor controller, delivering a full range nearfield listening environment with our Focal Twin 6BE speakers combined with the Focal Sub6. Our reference speakers are a set of vintage Auratone 5C monitors, as well as Axys, EV or KRK monitor sets. We use Sennheiser and Fostex headphones. Our studio signal cables (Belden, Mogami, Klotz) and amplifiers meet the highest possible quality standards.
